Having just smoked one of these, this cigar is mind blowing. It is easily the best Serie v to date, if not the best Oliva to date. Commemorating the 135th anniversary of the first tobacco planted by Melanio Oliva, this cigar needed to be good. However, this storied company met and exceeded all expectations with this stick.
The Oliva 135 serie v has a complex profile that could realistically be enjoyed by anyone. Fuente Opus X brand changed the Dominican cigar industry when it released in 1995! Opus X was the first Dominican Puro, apparently the Dominican soil wasn’t ideal for growing wrapper leaf, but after years of tenacious work from the Fuente family they deemed it was ready to start growing this incredible leaf. Beautiful, reddish-brown tobacco full of Power, spice, and sweetness. Dark and oily with notes of red pepper and leather!

In 2016, Rocky blended a cigar featuring an exquisite San Andrés wrapper. Deciding that this blend would develop even further with age, he ordered a short production run of 120,000 cigars. The cigars were laid to rest in an aging room, locked away for two years. This medium bodied cigar delivers notes of cocoa and graham cracker intertwined with hints of espresso.

Futuro was an idea hatched between Kyle Gellis, founder of Warped and Max Fernández, owner of AGANORSA, Casa Fernández cigars, and Tabacos Valle de Jalapa S.A. (TABSA) in Estelí, Nicaragua. They set out to create cigars that were unlike cigars in Warped’s portfolio or those typically made by Casa Fernández. The blend that they came up with is a Nicaraguan puro that uses 100% AGANORSA tobaccos including a Nicaraguan Corojo 99 wrapper, Nicaraguan Criollo 98 binder and Nicaraguan Corojo 98 and Corojo 99 fillers. Two sizes are available, picked by Fernández and Gellis. Futuro is made at Tabacos Valle de Jalapa S.A. (TABSA) in Estelí, Nicaragua. Only 400 boxes of each vitola were available for the debut at the 2015 IPCPR Convention.
