Caldwell Sevillana Reserva – NOW IN STOCK
Anthony’s Cigar Emporium has received the new Caldwell Sevillana Reserva, part of Caldwell’s new Iberian Express brands. The Iberian Express brands have replaced Caldwell’s Junior Varsity Collection as its brand of premium value-priced cigars. The Sevillana is now called the Caldwell Sevillana Reserva and has remade packaging, notably now coming in 25 ct boxes. The Caldwell Sevillana Reserva mild bodied, smooth and buttery blend with the notable Connecticut Shade wrapper that is exactly the same as the old Sevillana. The Sevillana was one of former Davidoff Caldwell Master Blender William Ventura’s Dominican brands prior to being Caldwell’s exclusive cigar maker at Caldwell’s new factory in Tamboril, Dominican Republic. The Sevillana was a well-constructed, full-flavored cigar in its own right and never a “Caldwell Second.” However, Robert Caldwell was concerned enough about the brand’s identity that he repackaged it.
From Cigar Coop: “Caldwell explained on Stogie Geeks that the Junior Varsity was originally a line being made by Tabacalera William Ventura and marketed in the Dominican Republic. Caldwell thought they were great cigars and reworked them to have some larger ring gauges (they were all originally small ring gauges). Caldwell mentioned that sometimes the name “JV” (Junior Varsity) was perceived as a “Caldwell Second”. Originally he had planned for Junior Varsity to be the “workhorse” line and Caldwell Collection was going to be his crown jewel. As a result of this, Caldwell Collection ended up taking both roles, thus he made plans to rework it.”
The Caldwell Sevillana Reserva is made at the new Caldwell Cigar Factory in Tamboril.

Davidoff Colorado Claro
It’s October again, time for the sweet spice of Davidoff’s most anticipated yearly release:
Davidoff Colorado Claro – Just Arrived at Anthony’s Cigar Emporium.

Anthony’s Cigar Emporium just received its 2015 allotment of Davidoff Colorado Claro. The distinctive, reddish, Cubanesque sun-grown Connecticut wrapper leaf varietal has a very low yield making the Colorado Claro a limited annual production that typically sells out quite fast at Anthony’s Cigar Emporium.
Order your box today to make sure you get one while they last and we will ship them to you immediately!
The distinguishing factor of the Davidoff Colorado Claro is the dark, reddish brown, stronger Connecticut Ecuadorian sun grown wrapper. Reminiscent of the Cuban style, the Davidoff Colorado Claro lends itself to the more intense flavor profile and a fuller body. Because Davidoff is so committed to quality, only a select few of these leaves meet the standard for this particular cigar. Produced in a very small quantity, the Colorado Claro is extremely limited. A spicy start rounds off to creamy flavors of sweet wood and continues to build toward a marvelously full-flavored and complex smoke with a fantastic aroma. The Davidoff Colorado Claro wrapper is available on all of the Davidoff Special Series (Special R, Special T, Short Perfecto, and Special T) and the Davidoff Aniversario #3.

LFD Coronado – Arriving in 10 days!
The LFD Coronado by La Flor line has been the highest rated of any La Flor Dominicana. Connoisseurs appreciate the very full-bodied, robustand spicy character of the Coronado. The blend of the cigar has not changed since its debut in 2006. In that year Cigar Aficionado named it the #2 Cigar of the Year with a 93 rating (a Cuban was #1, making the Coronado the #1 non-Cuban) noting its caramel and leather notes.
La Flor Dominicana is reintroducing this classic in 2015 with new packaging and labeling. Though the old band was really cool, La Flor Domicana thought brand identity was an issue with no real way to know clearly that it was an LFD product. The new LFD Coronado comes in 18-count boxes and with a new band clearly displaying LFD instead of the retro Coronado by La Flor label that was a gold and purple band with an embossed crown.
The blend, however, has remained unchanged from the Coronado by La Flor classic. The Coronado still has a very oily sun-grown wrapper from the Jalapa valley of Nicaragua, a Dominican Corojo binder and filler blend that include Sumatra-seed, and Piloto Cubano from La Flor Dominicana’s own farms in La Canela, Dominican Republic.
The cigar, because of its heavy oils and its strong flavor profile ages very well. In fact, the 2006 classic reappeared in the October 2015 issue of Cigar Aficionado in the Connoisseurs Corner vintage tastings , with a 97 rating! From Cigar Aficionado editor Gordon Mott: “Just short of perfect, this Dominican cigar, a powerhouse in its youth, has mellowed with age, and it’s now a perfect balance between earthy full flavor, and the robust sweetness of cocoa. The sweet and peppery finish goes on forever .”
We shall have to wait to see if Coronado lanceros reappear, but for the time being we have five formats. This cigar is an unbeatable intersection of value, flavor, and quality. One of our customer favorites at Anthony’s Cigar Emporium.

Montecristo 80th Anniversary – arriving any day!
The legendary Montecristo marca celebrates its 80th anniversary this year and Altadis U.S.A is marking the occasion with a worthy cigar: the Montecristo 80th Anniversary. It’s a 6” x 54 Belicoso in the iconic No. 2 format and box pressed. The Montecristo 80th Anniversary cigar is composed of some rare Dominican tobaccos and blended and crafted by Altadis’ most-skilled Grupo de Maestros cigar makers at the Tabacalera de García factory in La Romana, Dominican Republic. Anthony’s Cigar Emporium placed its order for the Montecristo 80th Anniversary cigar at the 2015 IPCPR Convention in July, and after a suspenseful wait, we are finally going to get it any day now.
The Montecristo 80th Anniversary features a dark, rich and oily Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper that burns well with a full-bodied and spicy taste. The binder is a Dominican Olor, from a 2010 vintage crop grown by Villa Gonzalez Crop that is notable for its slightly natural sweetness and floral tones. The filler is a blend of a new and exclusive Dominican Pilotico leaf combined with Nicaraguan Criollo ’98, a dark, heavy bodied tobacco noted for its strength and robust taste, as well as Nicaraguan Corojo ’99, a wonderfully aromatic tobacco well known for a great burn and uniform white ash. All put together, this is an ultra-premium full bodied cigar and a testament to the Grupo de Maestros.
In 1935, Alonso Menendez and José Manuel Pepe García started
a brand in Cuba inspired by the Alexandre Dumas novel, The Count of Montecristo, appropriately titled Montecristo. Following the Cuban revolution, Menendez and Garcia fled to the Canary Islands and then to Dominican Republic. While the brand still exists in Cuba, Menendez and García would eventually re-establish the brand in the Dominican Republic exclusively for the American market. When the duo settled in the Dominican Republic, they met another Cuban refugee named Pepe Mendez who would source the premium tobaccos used in the Montecristo.
When Pepe Mendez had fled Cuba, he took some seeds with him where they were set aside. Recently the Mendez family grew some tobacco in the Navarrese region of the Dominican Republic from those seeds. That tobacco is known as Dominican Pilotico. This tobacco is quite scarce because it is difficult to grow due to the fact that it is very susceptible to mold resulting in much lower yields. What makes the Montecristo 80th anniversary special is that it uses Dominican Pilotico in the filler of the blend. Naturally producing fewer and smaller leaves, the Pilotico leaf is rich, strong, and wonderfully complex.
The Montecristo 80th Anniversary come in black, stained-oak boxes of 12 emblazoned with the Montecristo fleur-de-lis. Only 3,000 of these 12-count boxes have been produced, making the Montecristo 80th Anniversary a coveted collectible limited edition cigar.
All Montecristo 80th Anniversary boxes come with Free Shipping at Anthony’s Cigar Emporium.

Camacho American Barrel Aged – Master Built Series
Anthony’s Cigar Emporium has received the brand new Camacho American Barrel Aged. From Camacho about the Camacho American Barrel Aged : “Born from the inexhaustible spirit that has inspired Camacho from day one. Brace yourself for a monumental smoke that welds the essence of true frontier mettle to Camacho’s impenetrable Cuban roots… A cigar that shatters all expectations, pushes every limit and paves the way for a life lived out loud. American Barrel-Aged is truly the embodiment of uncompromising craftsmanship.”
The Camacho American Barrel Aged is the first line released under a new Camacho series called the Master Built Series, blended to be rich, full-flavored and full bodied. The Camacho American Barrel Aged, making its debut in 2015, is a regular production cigar that incorporates six year old Corojo leaf in a mostly American tobacco blend. The Corojo leaf is said to amplify the complexity and intensity of the blend and contributes to oaky flavors and sweet bourbon aromas due to the fact that Camacho uses a special aging technique by locking thesix-year-old Corojo leaf in charred Kentucky Bourbon oak barrels. The mostly American filler blend contains Pennsylvania Maduro, and Connecticut Broadleaf. USA Connecticut Broadleaf is used for both the wrapper and binder. The Camacho American Barrel Aged is an oily, full-flavored, full-bodied masterpiece. In another first, this cigar will be a Dominican made cigar for Camacho, making the Camacho American Barrel Aged the first time a Camacho cigar has been rolled outside of Honduras, yet the cigar is bold and unmistakably Camacho.
The three simple formats of the Camacho American Barrel Aged offered: Robusto (5″ x 50, also offered in tubos), Toro (6″ x 50), and Gordo (6″ x 60). Each are packaged in 20 count boxes.

“American Barrel-Aged is something we have been working on for some time and we are very excited to finally share it with aficionados now in the US and across global markets in the near future. This project marks the first time a Camacho core line has been made outside of Honduras and we are extremely proud of what our master builders in the Dominican Republic have brought to life. Barrel aging is a very tedious and hands-on process. We are aging around 2,000 lbs of Corojo filler tobacco and rotating the barrels one leaf at a time every few weeks. Each batch takes a full five months to complete and requires constant attention to ensure the proper journey for this special tobacco,” said Dylan Austin, Director of Marketing for Davidoff of Geneva USA.
