The term “Angel’s Share” is commonly used in the spirits world. Makers of Cognac, Scotch, Bourbon and other brown, long-aged spirits lose a decent portion of their product due to evaporation. The lost vapor is said to be enjoyed by the angels of heaven, and has been dubbed “the angel’s share.”
Arturo Fuente had a massive fire summer of 2011, that caused one of the family’s tobacco warehouses in the Dominican Republic to burst into flames, burning thousands of bales of tobacco, including a few that had been aging for decades. Fuente Jr. has said that “The angels enjoyed the smoke, and where he got the idea for the name of this line.”

La Mission de L’Atelier is French for “The mission of the workshop”, many of the details behind the concept of the brand are inspired from Château La Mission Haut-Brion, a French winery located southeast of Bordeaux in the Pessac-Léognan region.
The blend, it’s a base of Nicaraguan fillers from the García family farm, including some Sancti Spiritus leaf L’Atelier has used in a variety of other blends, and covered in Mexican San Andrés wrapper.

6 1/8 x 50 toro that is highlighted by Dominican andullo tobacco, a unique way of processing tobacco.
Normally tobacco used for cigars is harvested and placed in pilones, basically very large piles of tobacco that are rotated as the leaves dry, but andullo tobacco is picked and then wrapped into large pods known as “yaguas” after being harvested. These pods are then rooted into the ground while the tobacco cures.
Blend: Connecticut broadleaf wrapper over a shade-grown Connecticut binder and fillers comprised of Dominican andullo tobacco, Dominican piloto cubano, Honduran tobacco from the Jamastran Valley and Nicaraguan tobacco from Estelí.
5,000 boxes will be made, reserved solely for the U.S. market.
